Temporary Food Facilities Training

The goal of this website’s Temporary Food Facility Training is to assist the Community Event Organizers and food vendors in handling food safely at community events in Ventura County.

Due to the nature of food service to a large number of people in a temporary setting at Community Events, proper food handling practices are needed to reduce the potential for foodborne illness.

This training will help you:

  • Serve safe food, not only at the event but also at home, and minimize the possibility of a foodborne illness.

Foods can be naturally contaminated with bacteria and viruses called pathogens. If the foods are mishandled, they can cause very serious health consequences for all, especially infants, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems. For these reasons, it is important for all food handlers to be careful when preparing and serving food.

  • Set up and operate temporary food facilities in compliance with State law.

Annual renewal of the TFF Training Certificate is no longer required. The certificate is valid for 3 years from the last date of renewal or class attendance. Class attendance is required upon expiration.
