Request a Refund
The County’s refund policy allows for a 90% refund for canceled permits and permit applications when the Review or Inspection services were not commenced as a result of cancellation by the property owner or permit applicant. Fees for permits and permit applications that were issued or accepted by the County in error will be refunded at 100%. Per Ventura County Building Code 109.6, requests for refunds must be made within 180 days of the original fee payment date.
To request a refund for a Building and Safety fee, please complete a Refund Request Form and submit it to B&S in person at a B&S public counter or by sending the PDF form via email to building@ventura.org.
