The mission of Building and Land Use Enforcement is to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment. We help maintain and improve the quality of our community by administering a fair and unbiased enforcement program to correct building and land use violations.
We want to enhance neighborhoods and their citizens’ health, safety, and general welfare through efficient and effective County code enforcement. All actions are conducted in a responsive and fair manner, focusing on customer service and public awareness while respecting the property rights of our citizens.
Building and Land Use Enforcement respond to complaints from concerned citizens in our community that are related to:

  • Illegal Dwellings
  • Trimming/Removal of Protected Trees
  • Open storage
  • Unpermitted Buildings or Construction
  • Fences and Walls
  • Illegal Businesses
  • Keeping Excessive Numbers of Pet or Farm Animals
  • Illegal Signs
  • Substandard Housing

Locations and Directions to Building and Zoning Enforcement

Code Compliance is located on the 3rd Floor of the Hall of Administration at the County Government Center Complex. The complex is located at 800 South Victoria Ave. between the Santa Paula (126) Freeway and Telephone Rd.

Payment of Fees and Charges

Code Compliance does not accept credit cards. Payments must be in cash or with a check, payable to County of Ventura, Code Compliance.
