Environmental Health Division
Environmental Health Division protects public health and the environment by ensuring conformance with State laws and County ordinances pertaining to a wide variety of environmental health programs. Much of this work is accomplished by performing routine inspections and investigations; conducting workshops and seminars; and taking enforcement action when warranted. The Environmental Health Division also interacts with various federal, state, regional, and local governmental agencies associated with environmental health programs.
An equally important function of the Environmental Health Division is to provide timely advice and information to the public, businesses, and other governmental agencies.
This is especially critical when the health of Ventura County residents and visitors is threatened during emergencies such as earthquakes, fires, floods, hazardous materials incidents, sewage spills, and outbreaks of disease.

Solid Waste Program Notices
In compliance with Sections 21660. and 21660.1 of Title 27 of the California Code of Regulations, the Environmental Health Division acting as the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) for solid waste facilities and operations, and the applicant (operator), are required to prepare a temporary public notice of new solid waste facility applications and proposed changes to the Report of Facility Information (RFI).
