Legal Lot Status

Legal lots, Illegal Lots, and Merged Lots

Prior to the issuance of a permit or other entitlement, the County must determine the legal lot status of the applicant’s Lot. Legal lot verification is required to enter the permitting process.

The State Subdivision Map Act and Ventura County Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances prohibit the issuance of any permit or other planning entitlements on lots that are illegally created.

Please be prepared to provide all Assessor’s Parcel Numbers.
