Planning Director Meeting

The Planning Director Hearings constitutes the final public hearing for land use entitlements that require Planning Director approval. The case planner generally conducts hearings, and following the meeting the Planning Director approves or denies the project and imposes any necessary conditions. Decisions of the Planning Director are appealable to the Planning Commission. Planning Director Hearings are held on Thursday mornings in Room 311 of the County Hall of Administration

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is appointed by the Board of Supervisors to take actions and make recommendations regarding land use and planning matters. The Commission conducts public hearings, considers the proposals and the information provided by the Planning Division staff, applicants and members of the public, and reviews the recommendations of staff. Depending on the issue, the Planning Commission either makes a decision to grant or deny the permit application, or make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors as to the action the Commission feels is most appropriate. The Planning Commission meets on an as-needed basis on Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room.
