Mobile Home Park Rent Review Board Hearing Notices
In 1983, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors adopted a Mobile Home Park Rent Control Ordinance (Ordinance). The Ordinance protects the owners of mobile homes located in the unincorporated areas from unreasonable rent increases while at the same time recognizing the need for park owners to receive a fair return on their property and rental income sufficient to cover operational costs.
The Mobile Home Park Rent Review Board (MHPRRB) consists of five board members appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a three-year term. The MHPRRB is the decision-maker for the following rent increase applications: Utility Separations, Discretionary rent increases, and Service Reductions. The Staff Administrator to the MHPRRB reviews ministerial rent increase applications, such as annual ministerial Social Security Cost of Living Adjustment rent increases and Completely New Capital Improvement rent increases, for completeness and consistency with the Ordinance.
The MHPRRB meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of the month, quarterly (every February, May, August, and November), or as needed, at 1:00 p.m. in the County of Ventura Government Center, Hall of Administration Building, Multi-Purpose Room, 800 S. Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009, or as otherwise indicated in the posted agenda. Please contact the Staff Administrator, Dillan Murray, to confirm the scheduled public meeting dates, times, and meeting location. He can be reached at (805) 654-5042 or by email at dillan.murray@ventura.org.
