VENTURA, Calif. – The County of Ventura Resource Management Agency (RMA) is excited to announce the appointment of Imosemen Omiunu as the Public Information Officer, a newly created position for the agency. This appointment was made by RMA Director Rob Mullane after a comprehensive recruitment process.

Omiunu brings nearly a decade of experience in community engagement, digital marketing, community outreach, event management, and social media management from both the public and private sectors. Most recently, she served as a Resident Director for the University of California, Santa Barbara in the University’s Residential and Community Living Department.

“This is an important new position for RMA, one which fulfills a long-standing need for better community outreach and assistance,” said Rob Mullane, Director of the Resource Management Agency. “We are really looking forward to forging a closer relationship with our customers and applicants, as well as assisting our fellow County agencies in their understanding of what RMA is responsible for and how we can work more efficiently together. We were very impressed with Imosemen’s qualifications and skill set. We are thrilled that she has joined the RMA and County team.”

In her new role, Omiunu will be responsible for increasing external communications and community awareness around the work done by RMA and highlighting the Agency’s positive impacts within the County. In previous roles, Omiunu has successfully led digital marketing and branding campaigns, developed social media content for a leading crowdsourced business review platform, and crafted communication strategies to engage diverse communities and strengthen connections within residential communities. As well, she has built strong professional relationships with leadership at various educational institutions and community organizations.

“I’m honored to join the Resource Management Agency in this role, as engaging with and educating the community has always been my passion,” Omiunu says. “I’m excited to raise awareness about RMA’s programs and services and to build strong connections between our community and the remarkable individuals driving the Agency’s impactful work.”

Omiunu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Black Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Education degree from James Madison University in Virginia. Originally from the Inland Empire, she is a lifelong California resident.
