The following Special Needs Housing Programs were either initiated by the Board of Supervisors, mandated by state law, or were adopted with the 2014-2021 Housing Element.   1. Farmworker Housing Standards
    “The Planning Division, in consultation with farmworker housing organizations, will evaluate development standards applicable to discretionary farmworker complexes and, if warranted to facilitate farmworker complexes, will adopt new or amend existing development standards.” Housing Element Program 3.3.3-5(8)
  2. Supportive and Employee Housing (State Mandated)
    Review of County Zoning Ordinances and amend, as necessary, to achieve compliance with Government Code 65582 and Health and Safety Code 17000-17062.5.
  3. Senior Citizen Housing
    “The Planning Division will evaluate senior citizen housing needs and potential ordinance revisions that promote the preservation and expansion of senior citizen housing countywide.” Housing Element Program 3.3.3-5(11)
  4. Mobilehome Park Overlay Zone (Board Initiated)
    On September 16. 2014, the Board of Supervisors directed Planning Division staff to assess the potential benefits of a Mobilehome Park land use designation and/or zone and present recommendations.
