Rebuilding Together

Mountain Fire Rebuilding Resources

We understand that rebuilding your home after the Mountain Fire can be overwhelming and we are here to support you in this process.

1. Expediting the Permitting Process

For homeowners looking to rebuild, we’ve expedited the permitting process by no longer requiring a zoning clearance for fire rebuilds. This means that instead of starting with our Planning Division, you can now go directly to our Building & Safety Division to apply for a Building Permit.

Please note: You can begin the process by applying for a Building Permit through Building & Safety, provided your plans are ready. If you need additional assistance, have questions about the rebuilding process, or are unsure where to start, don’t hesitate to contact our Planning Mountain Fire Rebuild Team for guidance.

2. Mountain Fire Approved Fee Waivers

On December 17, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved a series of fee waivers to alleviate the financial burden to homeowners associated with rebuilding efforts. These waivers, which will cover various essential construction-related fees, will provide financial relief to homeowners who may be underinsured or are anticipated to face the high costs of rebuilding.

3. Mountain Fire Planning Rebuild Team

Our Planning Division has established a Mountain Fire Planning Rebuild Team, consisting of four dedicated planners focused solely on assisting Mountain Fire victims who wish to rebuild. This team is committed to providing personalized one-on-one support to answer your rebuilding questions and guide  you through the entire process. Please feel free to call, email, or visit a team member in person at the Hall of Administration for assistance.

We have also provided contact information for each agency, ensuring you can connect with the right resources quickly to receive the guidance and support you need.
